We are a community-based non profit centre overseen by a Management Committee formed by volunteer parents and is run on a daily basis by the Director.
We aim to provide quality child care for short periods of time for those whose needs are infrequent and irregular. Our staff aim to promote a trusting and safe environment for your child/ren whilst they are in our care. The centre is licensed to provide care for 28 children at any one time.
The Management Committee holds monthly meetings to discuss the running of the centre and make decisions regarding centre policy. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings. The Committee holds its Annual General Meeting at the start of the year.
Within our service, we have Diploma Trained Educators who are room leaders of the 8 place Toddler Room (0 -2 year olds) and the 20 place Kindy Room (2- 5 year olds). Diploma Trained Educators have a minimum qualification of a Diploma of Community Services (Children's Services) 0-12 year olds. The service also employs Caregivers who hold a Certificate III of Children's Services or who are working towards completing this.
All staff have a National Police Clearance, Working With Children Check, Senior First Aid Certificate and attend various inservices and professional workshops to keep up to date with their fields.
The Service offers child-led programs in each of our rooms that comply with the requirements set out in the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations (WA) 2012. Daily, age appropriate, developmental programs are on display in each room. Our program is flexible and allows for spontaneous play along with intentional teaching experiences. We believe children learn through play and that adults and children should learn together. Parent input is always welcome and if you have any ideas or suggestions for the program, please speak to your child's Educator.
